Our Commitment to Keeping Patients and Employees Safe
Physical and occupational therapy services are essential healthcare services that have been permitted and encouraged to continue to operate in order to keep our patients healthy. We want to take the opportunity to share more details about the comprehensive measures our clinics have implemented while we remain open, including the implementation of alternative treatment methods for individuals who wish to complete their treatment at home.
Screening Procedures
Prior to receiving treatment, we will perform a temperature check using a no touch infrared thermometer. We will also measure your oxygen level using a pulse oximeter. In addition, every patient will be asked screening questions. If you have any doubts about whether you should attend a scheduled appointment, please call the clinic before arriving for your visit.
Our staff have their temperature taken daily and follow stay at home guidelines if any symptoms develop.
Limiting the Number of Visitors
We are limiting the number of people in our locations. Only essential family members or caregivers will be allowed to attend and they will be confined to our waiting areas.
Protecting You in the Clinic
Frequent cleaning is our top priority! We continue to emphasize and commit to the importance of keeping facilities sanitized. We are also utilizing anti-viral foggers and ozone air purifier in select areas.
Our employees are practicing good hand hygiene and wearing recommended masks in patient care areas. We offer these to any patient that is appropriate.
We have installed safety shields made of plexiglass in our Occupational Therapy department where patient/therapist interactions can be more face-to-face.
We are asking our clinics to properly space equipment, such as treatment tables, to limit patients per area in order to ensure proper social distancing of at least six (6) feet during therapy sessions.
In-home visits & Telehealth
While we’re taking every precaution, following every guideline and still open for business, we know not everyone is comfortable coming into our clinic. We now offer in-home visits, as well as telehealth for new or existing patients in order for you to continue (or establish) a therapy treatment program. While it’s not meant to completely replace hands-on therapy sessions in our clinics, these are safer alternatives for new or current patients that are ideal for times like this. We will gladly discuss which option is best given your needs and insurance.
Additional measures may be necessary to protect your health in our clinics. If so, we will update our practices and policies immediately. With this shared commitment, we are confident we can continue delivering the same high level of care you’ve come to expect from us.
Sincerely,
Southern Therapy Services/FYZICAL
