Carrollton, GA (March 1, 2012) - Southern Therapy Services, Inc. celebrates National Athletic Training Month by offering free health screenings at their Carrollton clinic on Tuesday, March 20th and Thursday March 22nd from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The screenings will be held in their Health & Wellness gym which is located inside their outpatient clinic on 812 South Park Street. Southern Therapy's Director of Sports Medicine and Certified Athletic Trainer, Patrick Rothschadl will provide a variety of evaluations including: blood pressure, body composition, weight management tips, body mass ratios, and more.

The theme of National Athletic Training Month 2012 is "Athletic Trainers Save Lives." Certified athletic trainers (ATCs) are allied health care professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, management and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses which occur to athletes and the physically active. An athletic trainer is an expert at recognizing, treating and preventing musculoskeletal injuries. They meet qualifications set by the Board of Certification, Inc., and adhere to the requirements of the Georgia licensing board. Athletic Trainers practice under the direction of a physician and in cooperation with other health care professionals, athletic administrators, coaches and parents.

Southern Therapy's Health and Wellness gym is open to the public. The program is designed by healthcare professionals to help people of all ages and levels of fitness achieve their health and wellness goals comfortably and safely. This facility is staffed and equipped to suit the individual needs of virtually every member in a comfortable, safe and supportive environment, especially for those with chronic health conditions.

"We look forward to meeting our neighbors and friends at the screenings, and demonstrating the various types of services we provide," says Rothschadl. Screenings are by appointment only, please contact Patrick at 770-834-7436, ext. 107 for more information.
