Southern Therapy Services, Inc. seeks a full-time school-based Pediatric Occupational Therapist to work within our community school system contract in the West Georgia area. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with students in educational settings to address physical disabilities, injuries, or other health-related issues that may affect their ability to participate fully in academic and extracurricular activities.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for independently managing an assigned caseload of students and coordinating therapeutic interventions and care with multiple disciplines, parents, and community resources to achieve the highest level of physical independence.
  • Consult with special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, speech and occupational therapists, physical therapists, physical education teachers, nurses, school administrators, bus drivers, other school personnel, and parents to provide information and recommendations regarding students with physical disabilities.
  • Evaluate and plan for occupational therapy intervention required in the school setting.
  • Assist students in gaining functional independence to benefit from the educational environment more thoroughly.
  • Responsible for timely documentation, including but not limited to daily notes, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, etc.
  • Practices in compliance with professional knowledge and standards of clinical practice and in accordance with policies and procedures of the agency, laws, and regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Must have an active Georgia Occupational Therapy License.
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
